World Physiotherapy Congress 2027 will be held at Expo Guadalajara, the largest event venue in Mexico, and one of the major economic generators in the meetings industry since 1987. Located in the heart of Guadalajara the venue welcomes over 2.1 million national and international visitors annually.

Time zone

Mexico is seven hours behind UTC. Mexico is covered by a single time zone. There is no daylight saving time.

Weather

Generally, the weather in May will be warm and moderately humid. Daytime temperatures typically range from 28-31 °C (82-88 °F), while evenings cool to 17-20 °C (62-68 °F).

WiFi

There is usually free wifi in hotels, restaurants, and train stations. You can rent a mobile wifi device at the airport or use an international SIM card in your phone.

Drinking water

It is advised that visitors to Mexico should avoid drinking tap water. To avoid any risks, visitors are advised to drink bottled water.

Electricity

Mexico operates on a standard voltage of 127 volts AC at 60 Hz. The standard plug types are A and B, featuring two flat pins, with type B including a third round pin. It is advised to bring a plug adapter for the use of electrical equipment.

Personal medicines

We recommend that you bring sufficient quantities of any medicines you take, even those you use less frequently.

Money

The official currency of Mexico is the Mexican peso (MXN or $). Coins commonly in circulation include 50 centavos, 1, 2, 5, and 10 pesos, while banknotes are issued in denominations of 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1,000 pesos. Credit and debit cards are widely accepted in shops, restaurants, and hotels in Guadalajara. It is advisable to carry a small amount of cash for minor purchases, local markets, or public transport.

Getting around

The city centre is approximately 20 km from Guadalajara International Airport. Airport taxis, operated by ATASA and ATTA, are the preferred option for many visitors to get from the airport to Guadalajara. The cheapest way to travel from from the airport to the city is by bus and will take about 90 mins.
