The call for abstracts is open from 11 June until 29 September 2026.
Anything submitted after the closing deadline will not be considered for presentation.
All successful and unsuccessful submitters will be notified of the results by early January 2027, once all the reviews have been completed.
Yes, you can submit more than one abstract, however a presenting author can only present a maximum of two abstracts at the event.
Yes, you can submit an abstract and be considered even if you have submitted and or are speaking in a different session format (for example a focused symposium). There is a limit of two abstracts (platform, oral ePoster or printed poster) per presenting author.
If you are submitting an abstract you are applying to present in one of the following: platform presentation, oral ePoster presentation or a printed poster presentation. Visit the session types page to find out more about the different types of sessions at congress.
Notifications will be sent to the submitting author, so please make sure the email is correct and active. The person that submitted the abstract is responsible for informing the other authors.
First, take a look at the call for abstracts page and download the submission guidelines here. You will then need to submit your abstract via the Oxfords Abstracts platform (you will need to create an Oxford Abstracts account if you don’t already have one). If you need more help, view our abstract support page here.
The World Physiotherapy congress programme covers the breadth of the profession, and we encourage submissions from a wide variety of topics. During the submission process you will be asked to select the topic(s) your abstract(s) fall under. If you feel the subject is important or of interest to a diverse audience of the physiotherapy community then it is probably worth submitting.
All presentations including research on humans (patients, carers, students, faculty, staff, colleagues) or animals must provide evidence that the research was carried out ethically (i.e. ethics committee approval, informed consent by subjects). To check that your research complies with ethical principles, please view the Ethical Aspects of Research document. See also the global international standards.
The CPC expects the research to have been conducted in accordance with international ethical principles.

Abstracts need to be submitted in English. Any abstracts submitted in languages other than English will not be considered. AI language tools to help you translate into English are allowed in the submission process. If the English phrasing is not perfect, don’t worry – we understand that many submissions will come from people whose first language isn’t English. This is also true of reviewers!
World Physiotherapy and the congress programme committee support the transparent and responsible use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in research. Check out the ‘Good research practice when using generative AI’ guidelines in the call for abstracts information to find out more. You can also take a look at the European Commission’s Living guidelines on the responsible use of generative AI in research.
