Platform and uploaded poster presentations may be available after the congress in Guadalajara, on-demand through the congress platform.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Please note: all platform, oral ePoster, and printed poster presenters are required to attend the congress in person.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Platform presentations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Each platform presentation is scheduled for seven minutes plus three minutes for discussion.<br \/><br \/><strong>Posters<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Oral ePoster presentation sessions<\/strong> will be scheduled in the programme and grouped by topic. Speakers are given a total of five minutes to discuss their oral ePoster with participants, using electronic screens. Session moderators will facilitate any discussions between the audience and speakers.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Printed poster presentation sessions<\/strong> will be conducted within the poster area. Printed posters are grouped by topics. Authors will have a designated presentation time during the programme for discussion with participants. The area available to display printed posters will limit the number of printed posters that can be accommodated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important, please note:<\/strong> platform, oral ePoster and printed poster presentations are considered by the congress programme committee (CPC) to be of equal standing and judged by the same criteria. While submitters may indicate their preferred format of platform, oral ePoster or printed poster presentation, the CPC will assign abstracts to sessions. We expect abstract submitters to follow established guidelines on the use of AI such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/research-and-innovation.ec.europa.eu\/document\/download\/2b6cf7e5-36ac-41cb-aab5-0d32050143dc_en?filename=ec_rtd_ai-guidelines.pdf\">European Commission\u2019s Living guidelines on the responsible use of generative AI in research<\/a>. The key principles behind the European Commission\u2019s guidelines are:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reliability<\/strong> in ensuring the quality of research, reflected in the design, methodology, analysis, and use of resources. This includes aspects related to verifying and reproducing the information produced by the AI for research. It also involves being aware of equity and non-discrimination issues in relation to bias and inaccuracies.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Honesty <\/strong>in developing, carrying out, reviewing, reporting and communicating on research transparently, fairly, thoroughly and impartially. This principle includes disclosing that generative AI has been used.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Submitters should be transparent and detail which generative AI tools have been used substantially in their research processes.<\/li>\n<li>Submitters should aim for reproducibility and robustness in their results and conclusions. They should disclose or discuss the limitations of generative AI tools used, including possible biases in the generated content, as well as possible mitigation measures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Respect<\/strong> for colleagues, research participants, research subjects, society, ecosystems, cultural heritage and the environment. Responsible use of generative AI should consider the limitations of the technology, its environmental impact and its societal effects like bias, diversity, non-discrimination, fairness and prevention of harm. This includes the proper management of information, respect for privacy, confidentiality and intellectual property rights, and proper citation.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Submitters should pay particular attention to issues related to privacy, confidentiality and intellectual property rights when sharing sensitive or protected information with AI tools.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Accountability<\/strong> for the research from idea to publication, for its management and organisation, for training, supervision and mentoring, and for its wider societal impacts. This includes responsibility for all output a researcher produces, underpinned by the notion of human agency and oversight.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Submitters are accountable for the integrity of the content generated by or with the support of AI tools.<\/li>\n<li>Submitters should maintain a critical approach to using the output produced by generative AI and are aware of the tools\u2019 limitations, such as bias, hallucinations and inaccuracies.<\/li>\n<li>AI systems are neither authors nor co-authors. Authorship implies agency and responsibility, so it lies with human researchers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It is critical that submitters always perform a final manual check of the abstract to correct any AI-generated inaccuracies. When completing the online submission process the submitter will be asked to confirm that the presenting author has read and understood the general information and the requirements they are expected
